The Sennheiser e 604 is a compact, dynamic cardioid instrument microphone that is specially designed to handle the high sound pressure levels of drums, percussion, and brass instruments without noise and peak distortion.

Capable of transmitting high SPLs without distortion, it is compatible with toms, snares, and percussion and clips on quickly and easily wherever you choose.

The e 604’s frequency response and cardioid pick-up pattern are optimised for drum sets and other percussion instrument miking, while also producing exceptional results on all forms of brass and woodwind. An integral stand mount screws directly onto mic stands and included clip attaches mic to rim of drum. Very high sound pressure level handling, in excess of 160 dB, is combined with a balanced, clear, low distortion signal similar to a high-end studio condenser microphone. Lightweight voice coil provides extended high frequency and rapid transient response. A tough reinforced glass fibre body takes the knocks and shocks and suppresses impact noise.

The e 604 features a cardioid polar pattern that is effective in minimising noise and feedback at the off-axis sections of the capsule. The element features a neodymium magnet with boron, which yields a high output gain with low noise and reliable performance, regardless of climate. An integral stand mount screws directly onto mic stands and the included clip attaches the microphone to the rim of a drum.
